Re: [GSAS-Member] Speaking of filters, how do you polish your water?

Supposedly quilt batting works wonders, although I haven't tried it yet myself.
I have a Fluval 405 on one of my tanks and hope to try it soon.

Subject: [GSAS-Member] Speaking of filters, how do you polish your water?

I have a Fluval 404 on my 90 gal tank. I am pretty happy with it, it has
never clogged or leaked. But with the stock coarse sponge filters it also
doesn't do a great job of getting the fine bits out of the water. I can
always see plenty of specks circulating in my tank, especially after I have
fed the fish and they zoom around the bottom kicking up the muck.

I have plenty of free baskets in the canister for media. Any tips on what I
should try adding?
