LOL - not quite what I meant, but it serves me right for being terse :-) Here's what I've always been concerned of: The piping and tubing bringing water to our refrigerator is a good example. It's specifically made of plastics (or other polymers, or brass) that don't leach harmful chemicals into the water as it passes. As opposed, say, to the water bottles containing bisphenol A (BPA) that have started to be a concern, because the BPA leaches from the plastic even at room temperature and has been linked to chromosome damage and hormone disruption. (Part of that paragraph was shamelessly copied & pasted from other sources) I remember various times where crockery or dinnerware imported from various countries ended up making the news for the glazing containing lead, and being pulled from the market for safety reasons. I've always tried to keep my aquaria pretty "food safe," making sure nothing I put in it is likely to slowly contaminate the water. I've had new pillows occasionally that absolutely reeked of solvent used to make the foam when I first pulled them out of the bag, and SO... that's what I was thinking of when I asked the question. :-) > What does one consider to be food safe materials?
