For those of you ichthyologists or fish geeks who may be interested, there has been debate over the identification of one of the salmon which returned to Fauntleroy Creek (where Jack Lawless and I work with Coho salmon). Some have suggested that it is a Blackmouth salmon due to the black (duh) mouth. That would make it an Onchorynchus tshawytscha (Chinook) instead of O. kisutch (Coho) which is what we have return to the creek. See forwarded message below. Any comments?
