+1 I'm using the 200W variety on my 55g and it does a great job. The only 2 
risks are that they still do have a thermostat which can fail and that they 
don't provide a fail-safe

I will second that if you have a canister filter, I have one it works great,
even heat throughout the whole tank- only a .5 degree flux, really good.
