It's a well known way to kill a fish :-( There's a product called Hypno that's been used for decades with shipping fish. Here's a link to an article about it from the legendary Delores Schehr: http://articles.gpasi.org/tranquilizer.html I've received shipments of fish (cichlids usually) that have been 'hypno'd' It does indeed work like the article says, though IMHO, one fish per bag, starve them, clean water + poly filter in each bag, and you don't need it. You need hypno when you're crowding them. YMMV.
