Hi Jeff, I have 1X96 watt over my 45 gallon tall and it is all I need! You may want to watch out with 6X96 watts; jetliners mistake your home for the airport! LOL Seriously though, I would suggest you ramp up slowly with the wattage and photoperiod. If it were me, I would do no more than 4X96 watts to start and a 4-6 hour photoperiod. I continue the short period and lower wattage until I am sure the nitrogen cycle had been completed and I have sufficient plants in there to out-compete any algae growth. Otherwise I end up with a huge algae outbreak. Let us know how it goes! BTW, pictures of this beast would be great with all that light on!
