I'm a big fan of the ACA Conventions. They run from Thursday to Sunday, there's like a billion talks that go on until past midnight, tons of fish for sale or trade in peoples' rooms, and an all-day auction that must be seen to be believed. And if you've ever wanted to see all the folks who author the books and magazine articles all in one place, the ACA's the place.
They've got Anton Lamboj (from Vienna) booked this year -- he's an expert on West African Cichlids, as well as Ad Konings, Lee Newman, Paul Loiselle, and Oliver Lucanus (so far).
It's July 22-25, and it's in Milwaukee. It's a bit of a commitment, but they really don't get enough representation from us Northwesterners (except for the Portland Party Crowd, and some geek with a video camera).
