I got a nice T5 Ho fixture that fits my tank better, so I am selling off my old PC fixtures plus one T8 strip that came with my tank, but was never used. *TWO All-Glass Aquarium 48" Power Compact Strip Lights, Black (2x 55W in each fixture, straight pin sockets, 6700K bulbs included)* (I don't want to break up the pair right away but I will if I need to.) Asking $120 for the pair. Bulbs are approximately 1 year old. Depending on how you roll, that means they are either overdue for changing by 6 months, or they have another 6 months left. Or you can be like me and run them til they die! The fixture looks like this model: http://www.petblvd.com/cgi-bin/pb/AGA26508.html The lights are about 5.75" deep, meaning that two can be put on top of a 48" wide bowfront tank... but they won't fit very nicely. That's why I replaced them with a more compact fixture. One of these lights has a brand new ballast that I just installed tonight. The other light works, but its ballast *is* old and when I compared it to the repaired unit I saw that it puts out a bit less light. The good news is that if the ballast ever fails, you can easily replace it for about $20 and the light will be good as new for many more years. (Should that happen to you I'll even fix it for you, if you supply the part, which is easy to order.) How much light is this? It let me grow a tank full of no-frills plants, like swords, val, Java moss, and crypts. http://wrongcrowd.com/gallery/aquaria/90gal1 *ONE All-Glass Aquarium 48" Single T8 Strip Light, Black (32W I think) * Asking $25. Looks kind of like this, but 48" long and all black: http://www.tschome.com/1776-pid.html The strip is about 4.5" deep. The only use this ever got is when I loaned it to someone for a month. The bulb has a bluish cast but I am not sure what it is rated. I'm guessing it is higher than 6700K and less than 10,000K. With 32W I guess you could grow Java fern or light a big Q-tank! If you want all 3 lights, I'll let the lot go for $130. Someone save me from Craigslist. :) Thanks, Matt _______________________________________________ GSAS-Member mailing list GSAS-Member@thekrib.com http://lists.thekrib.com/mailman/listinfo/gsas-member
