Because the alkalinity is so low, it's pretty easy for the pH to fluctuate. I'll bet if the water sits around in a pitcher for a few hours, it gives a totally different pH reading.

Hi Jeff,

I was doing some water chemistry today myself.  The water out of my tap
was
about 7.8 PH; 2.0 dKH; and 4.0 dGH;  yes we have soft water!
