Re: [GSAS-Member] Cyanobacteria

I only have seen it in my 20 gal long tank.

When I have a little bit show up, I pick out as much as I can. Then I reduce
light levels or photoperiod, reduce fish feeding, and it eventually goes
away, over a week or two.

Last time I had a big outbreak used erythromycin. That worked very well, but
is only practical on a small tank unless you can get it in bulk. It's too
expensive at retail. Lights out would have worked too, but I had never tried
erythromycin and wanted to be different.

Keeping nutrients properly balanced as Roy explains is something I'm going
to have to try too.
