Dear Club,We had one guess for the mystery moss as a Taxiphyllum species with the common name "green sock moss." The common name is worth a portion alone but the scientific name is not right yet.
Photography of a moss is hard and I would like to include the attachment to show that the leaves are really quite large and cup shaped. The color is also just enough different from the common mosses I have observed and the growth has picked up as the temp is stabilized. I am still hopping that this is not just a moss off of someones roof or and emersed species but all looks well so far. I have at lease one more portion for Roy depending on how hard it is to cut the stainless mesh.
I purchased the plant in San Fransisco at Aqua forest (adana-usa.com) and was unable to check if Jimmy at Aquarium Plus has it today.
Send your answer to Roy.
