Well, it looks like my panic about my new tank was mostly unnecessary. All
the fish seem happy, the ick never became much of a problem and I now
have no ammonia and moderate nitrate readings. ( I didn't buy a nitrite kit
but I assume the nitrate reading means the nitrtite is getting broken
down.) Thanks for all the advice everybody offered and Dan's offer to bring
a nitrite test kit to the meeting for me. ( Dan I had to leave early so I
am sorry if you brought it and we didn't connect.)
I am thinking about what I might like to add next and I think it will be
guppies. ( What? Not African cichlids? Not Kribs? I know, very pedestrian of
me.) I have seen some online that are the type I think I would like to get
but wonder if anybody in the group has them or is the guppy specialist who
might have something else to suggest. I very much like the looks of the
blue or blue-green fan tails with black bodies or moderately colored
bodies. I also like the looks of what I think are called green or blue
grass guppies. If anybody has any of these for sale or anything else
something like that?
