Will do; Hardest part is getting them to
start eating; after that it’s a cake walk; right now he’s buried
himself in the sand on the bottom; wife accidently turned on the bright plant
lights instead of letting the timers do their trick and scared the bejesus out
of him this am; takes a very large tank to keep rays and that’s why they
have the rep of being hard to keep; people put them in little 100 gallon tanks
and expect them to survive; my 260g is barely big enough and I will have to
upgrade within about two years; rays produce tremendous amounts of ammonia due
to their physiological makeup so you need a massive amount of water to dilute
it and tons of filtration; something to do with the lack of a salt gland which
they lost when they migrated from salt to fresh water; very beautiful graceful
creatures though; very peaceful! Jeff
