Just wanted to add my two cents. Bridges Pets has 2 stores: Lake Stevens
and Snohomish. The Snohomish store had opened its doors in the last year
so it is fairly new. The Lake Stevens store was suppose to close but
instead they kept it open and expanded it. I am partial to the Lake
Stevens store since I have shopped here for years ( I live in Granite
Falls). I bought my tank, stand, canopy from here a few years ago, I
literally stole it, well maybe not literally. In short they have a huge
selection and their prices are pretty compatible (in the dry goods
department as Shango put it) to places like Pet Smart, Petco, etc. The
fish are higher priced than Petco, Petsmart, but I guess compatible to
other smaller stores. They had a great saltwater section in the Lake
Stevens store but took it out when they were going to close the doors.
Since it was a last minute decision to keep the Lake Stevens store open,
they have now started restocking the store again although there are no
plans to bring back saltwater fish at this time. I talk to the owner from
time to time and he updated me on what was going on since I was very
surprised that the store was not only restocked but expanded as well when
I walked in a few months ago. I think Susan has gone to the Lake Stevens
store in the past and tried to get them to participate in our GSAS
membership discounts but I am not sure what became of that. I can try
again if anyone wants me to look in to it. I'll talk to the owner himself.
They both are great places and as I previously stated I am still partial
to the Lake Stevens store for whatever reason. The first time I walked in
it made me say WOW and I have been to plenty of stores around the country.
Yes it is true they don't have everything like some other stores when is
comes to fish, plants, etc but there is something about the ambience of
the store I can't describe. Anyway if you are around these parts give them
both a try especially the Lake Stevens store (Frontier Village). See you
next meeting.
