Hi folks, I tried to post this earlier, but I think the address was wrong.
If you _did_ get it before, I'm sorry for repeating myself!

Yes, if it _is_ an AGA contest.

I responded to James directly on this point before the list was set up, so
I'll say it again for all who are on the list now. I suggested that this
group come up with a specific plan, and submit the finished proposal to the
AGA MC. When I see issues that I feel will be a concern of the MC, I will
speak up. I suspect you and Erik will do the same. I'd be _very_
surprised if a project like this, being proposed and organized by an AGA
member would be turned down by the MC. As far as funding is concerned,
again, I don't think it will be a problem for the SC (steering committee)
to approve it. Get a complete propsal done and submitted. Then it can be
tweaked if there are specific concerns expressed by MC or SC members.

See my previous comment about online involvement. OTOH, it is not uncommon
in club bowl shows to have a "popular choice" award. This could be done
via the internet. I would see no problem having this in addition to the
"formal" judging.

I think that's a good idea. We also might be able to get the slicks
involved. They're mostly pretty receptive to promoting the organized hobby.
