Re: AGA CONTEST - Digest V1 #133

The problem is James that you are trying to make everybody happy and giving
people
too many alternatives, and taking account for too many possible problems,
issues,
that might happen, no matter how remote. This is why is seems to have gotten
much
more complicated than it needs to be. I agree with Roger and Olga and David.

The whole issue got started becuase one or two people became intimadted over the
possiblity of this being a SERIOUS competition. Does that mean unless we cater
to
that feeling that we would not be able to attract enough people? I actually like
the idea of having both a showcase and a more professional contest. It doesnt
have
to be complicated or alot more work, but somehow I suspect that it will be. What
is bogging this down is hashing over things that are unimportant...freshwater or
brackish, real rocks or fake ones....Its a planted aquascape contest, plain and
simple, who in their right mind would enter a rock garden? They wouldnt unless
we
openly invite them to, and why should we? I know you want to keep focused, but
by
keeping things simple you remain focused. And I personally do not care for Kens
not so subtle threat to be soon an "ex AGA member"
