I've jsut spent some time on "About.com", looking at Copyright material (http://freelancewrite.about.com/jobs/freelancewrite/gi/dynamic/offsite.htm? site=http://www.eff.org/pub/CAF/law/ip%2Dprimer). In order to protect both ourselves and the AGA, we are going to have to explicitly ASK all entrants who actually TOOK the individual photographs of their aquascapes and we shall have to REQUIRE a signed release from the photographer, giving the AGA the limited use rights as we have outlined them on the web-site. >From reading the material on About.com, there is no way around this - and I'm not willing to stick my neck out in the hopes that people will be "nice" about it. I'll prepare a "release form" which will cover our collective backsides and can be posted to the website for printing out by entrants and mailed in together with their entrance fee checks.
