Re: [AGA-Contest] update [54], photo releases, etc

Done, last night. Take a peek at the wording on the site under the standalone photo release.

Hey, another problem starting to become REAL big this year is that a lot of people are now uploading photos with their name burned in. Used to be only one or two. Now I've had to e-mail more than a handful. I have adjusted the text on the upload message to say "No names or copyright burn-ins, please".

Got another couple of Hong Kong collages too. One guy was happy to replace the one collage I pointed out, but then asked if he could keep the other collage picture? Not sure what the logic is there... we definitely need to have the ability to include "extra unjudged images" next year, because these folks have really done a nice job including representative little slices of their tank. It is a shame I have to tell them no.

Like last year, I'm going to start listing the current
"possible entries
with photos" in the subject from here to the end. Looks
very good today,
as I just finished typing in the entries for the two
folks who've entered
through the mail so far this year... again, remember that
in 2003 &
earlier, we only had 60-70 entries total. Last year we
had about 120.

One curious phenomenon. As folks are starting to send
their photo release
forms, several have decided that scanning in a generic
signature and
"pasting" it into a word or jpeg file of the release form
is OK.

Sigh. I am not sure why anyone thinks this counts as
signing a document.

I have attempted to make things easier by adding a
special photo release
only page, and linking to it in 15 places throughout the
website. Maybe
people don't have access to a scanner & don't understand
that they can
take a digital picture of it in lieu of scanning or
faxing (but how'd they
scan their signature?). Maybe one of the folks will send
me an angry
letter that they "don't do printers". Stay tuned.
