Someone asked about prizes. We don't have no prizes. We don't have to show no stinkin' prizes. Uh, wait a minute, what about awards. . . If I have any say, I'd say, "There will be ribbons and awards -- see web site for details." I would *always* point to the web site for any but the most general info--this ensures that all folks are told exactly the same thing -- that's provenharder to do than onemight at first think. For the awards (not prizes) I would say this on the web site:
"For 1st, 2nd, 3rd place and best in show selections, awards will be cash, paid through PayPal only. $100 for 1st place, $75 for 2nd, $50 for 3rd, and $150 for Best in show. Void where prohibited."
And we should note on any solicitation that "contributions and payments to the AGA are notdeductible as charitable contributions for Federal tax purposes."
