Imo, move the date as necessary, forward or back for your convenience -- if moving it back, just post a note on the web site saying what the date is. Then, anyone that looks there will see that the date is . . .
There's nothing magic about Nov 1, afaik. So pull the rabbit out when your hat is ready.

Note for next time, let's not open the results November 1st, so tech guy
