Can I know who's judging? Am I? I've been away, and seem to have missed
some e-mails.<g>

I rewrote the rescaling and copyright burn function to use ImageMagick
(instead of the old clunky Gimp-perl interface I cobbled together in
2000). This should be a lot faster and more stable for future years as
well... people entering this year should find their photos "regenerated" a
bit more zippily.
Cool, so Cheryl's working judges, Bailin's done the copy, and Zoe's doing
a graphic. Almost together. :)

zippily. What a great word. I learn so much from you, Erik.
Zippily.

Guess I should then also mention that the offline judge photo
redirectilator :) is still working too. Last used in 2000 and abandoned
in years since, as the only judge with difficulties using the website
directly demanded that we send him 8x10 prints of each entry (guess
who!).
Our potential judge with the 2400 baud modem but tons of free time will be
in great shape come October.

Talk about it. We'd have to know before we could talk about it.

To explain Erik's last cryptic comment: George Farmer is in. Unfortunately,
he's also in country, serving in Afghanistan with the Royal Air Force. He
has enough spare time and Internet access, but not high-speed for big
downloads. That's okay, it'll all work out due to Erik's redirectilator.
We'll send George a cd with the images and then he can access the web site
for judging, but the web site will refer to the cd for the images. No
downloads.
As a reminder to everyone, please do not talk about who-all is judging.
Folks have a great time speculating and we wouldn't want to ruin their fun.
:-)

In my announcement, should we remove the judges names then? How this
weekend looking like for posting to the forums regarding the contest?
