If Jack can send Dave the membership list in a form that is easily incorporated in a database, such as tab-separated or comma separated, and, if Dave has a database manager program, then Dave can easily and quickly get the whole membership database, and it will be easy to search it anytime he wants to see if a prospective book buyer is a member.
