Hi Everybody, On Tue, 30 Mar 1999 04:12:12 -0800 owner-aga-mcm-digest@thekrib.com (MCM - Digest) writes: >Date: Mon, 29 Mar 1999 20:10:59 -0500 >From: Neil Frank <nfrank@mindspring.com> >Subject: Re: "Tom Brennan" <brennans@ix.netcom.com>: AGA Membership >check and Order...since January 98???? I was lying in bed and couldn't get to sleep until I responded and explained my frustration. I take my responsibility as a member of the Steering Committee seriously. When a member comes to me and says he has a problem with the organization, I want to get it resolved, to his satisfaction, and in a timely manner. I have been receiving communications verbally and by e-mail for a few months. Initially, I referred them to Jack for resolution. When they continued, I referred them to Jack with copies to Karen so she would be apprised of the situation. Nothing has changed. Put yourself in the position of someone, a new member or a renewing member who has sent in payment. You haven't received anything in several months. You don't even know if your payment has been received. If you paid by check it hasn't been cashed and the uncashed check makes balancing your check book more of a pain than it usually is. If you paid with a charge card, no charges appear on your bill and you haven't received a copy of the charge from the treasurer like he has done in the past. Ok, maybe the payment got lost in the mail, so you e-mail Jack and get no answer. The following is an excerpt from Jack in MCM V1 #93, >Everything is going fairly smoothly except in one area - email. I >apologize for being a terrible correspondent. My excuse is that I have >an enormous flood of email daily, from a number of sources, and it's a >lot of work to keep up with it. Still in the position of that member, what do you think of an organization that treats you this way? What do you tell your friends about the AGA? Would you renew next time? Unless we find an answer to this problem, I predict our renewal rate will drop to zero. Furthermore, I don't like having my reputation and that of all the other hard working volunteers for the AGA put in jeopardy. I addressed my last communication to the steering committee with a copy to Jack since I was talking about him, intending to keep the issue private. However, Frank may be right in sharing it with the management committee. We need all the inputs and assistance to solve the problems with non-response to members and getting the TAG back on schedule. HELP, PLEASE. ___________________________________________________________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail.
