A Things to do List

Hi Everybody,

99-50 I'm not a very computer literate person, but one thing that bugs
me about our communications is having to reread the same thing over and
over because nobody deletes the things they are not responding to, and
because they leave in the item previously discussed so we can make the
connection between what they are saying and it. Lets try something
different and see how it works. Notice that I've put numbers in front of
each subject. The 99 is the year and the number after the dash will be a
consecutively assigned number to denote the particular subject. Since we
are starting somewhere thru the year, I arbitrarily picked 50 to start.
When you reply just head it 99-50 and the comments that apply to
communications and 99-51 to add items to the list. That way we don't have
to reread the original message from Bob with Dorothys comments, and again
with Neils comments and again with Merrills comments, etc.

99-51 One of the things I'd like to do is to make up a list of what AGA
can or should be working on. After the list is complete, we can
prioritize them and decide which one or ones to start on now.

Here are some of the things that seem important to me:

        1) Job descriptions for the Chair, the SC and the MC. One reason this is
important to me is to help me develop some feel for what I can do as
chair, what should be done be the Steering Committee and what can be done
by the Management Committee. I am more than a little vague on these
subjects.

        2) Incorporation

        3) Budget

        4) A policy on subsidizing speakers about aquatic plants

        5) A policy on having a yearly gathering of the AGA. It could include
things like different or same locations, times of the year, things to do
at the get together, etc.

        6) A centralized sales location for all AGA merchandise so the members
don't have to send several orders and checks to Gomberg for posters,
&
books, to Walstad for back issues, to Dorothy for pins, etc.

Please send me your suggestions for the list. When everybody has
contributed, we will discuss and prioritize every item on the combined
list. Then we can go the next step and decide which can be worked on at
the same time.

                                        cu, Bob
