Hi Everybody, >Date: Thu, 11 Nov 1999 07:55:31 -0500 >From: Neil Frank <nfrank@mindspring.com> >Subject: votes > > [as I said in my earlier message, YES should not mean that we >necessarily >agree to ACCEPT the terms... only to DEFINE them. We >all >know that would take too long in our email forum, so can we be >flexible here.] Yes, I agree to this modification and had understood it this way all along. Remember, I said " Don't stop the negotiations, Dave L because we can always vote no on the proposal when it comes" Thanks for waiving the discussion and second on this but I will remember in the future. MC, please re vote on the modification. Incidentally, Neil, we are still here. <VBG> How did the printers respond to you? Did they get the next pub in the mail? Have they sent out a bill yet? For those of you who haven't voted yet, please do so ASAP. What I expected to do on the time of response issue was either pick an average of the responses, or select a few that seemed popular and put them back for a final vote, so include some discussion with your response on this issue. I'd also like to remind everybody to delete everything that is not relevant to your reply so the rest of us don't have to plow thru stuff we've already read, risking to possibility that we will skip something pertinent when we are fast forwarding thru old material. There was a fair amount of it in the last posting. Steve Dixon responded to my inquiry. Basically he declined because it is not an area in which he has expertise. He did volunteer to review the contract but also indicated a possible conflict of interest, so I declined his offer. He expressed some thoughts on incorporation which I am copying here for information purposes. The SC was copied on his reply, so if I missed something which seemed pertinent, please feel free to add it. Here is the quote from Steve My first question is, has AGA really figured out whether it needs to incorporate as a 501(c)iii corporation? 10 years or so ago I looked into this for one of the charitable activities of my company and the only reason I came up with was the tax deductibility of the contributions, or dues in AGA's case. Even if the annual dues were tax deductible, the fair market value of TAG or PAM would have to be subtracted from the dues to get the amount of the charitable deduction. How important is this issue for the members? As you may know, there is annual reporting and tax returns to file if the group is incorporated. I don't honestly know if this amounts to much (perhaps Karen's husband would know), but its something to consider. End of quote. He volunteered to chat with me about the AGA and I am trying to arrange a convenient time to do it. If anybody else is interested in calling, my phone number is 814-838-6380 and I live in Erie, Pa which is in the Eastern time zone. So far there has been no no votes on Bob McCaw. I suspect we will have two Bobs in the loop soon so please refer to me as Bob C and him as Bob M to avoid confusion. I already have to think twice when we are talking about Dave ( L or G? ) That's it for now, Bob C. ___________________________________________________________________ Get the Internet just the way you want it.
