As others have noted, this vote only commits us to continue the exploratory
negotiations with
Gomberg.  When it comes down to a final vote, it will be a very difficult 
decision
for me to make (assuming that the MC votes on this, and not just the SC).  TAG 
is
a difficult act to follow, but I know that Mary is gung-ho about making it
better.  And Dave Gomberg seems to have boundless energy and enthusiasm about 
TAG.

One possible outcome would be to use this opportunity to mimic the way that the
American Killifish Association operates:  a quarterly Journal (JAKA) with at 
least
some glossy color content and professional articles ( = PAM ), and the monthy
Business Newsletter (a 14 page bulletin with club news, show announcementst, 
rare
fish listings, and member ads with fish etc for sale or trade).  Maybe TAG, 
under
Mary's guidance, could move in the direction of the AKA Business Newsletter and
through it AGA could emphasize member activities and de-emphasize magazine
publishing.
