Hi Everyone, There is a lot for me to get caught up on. First, Diana has consented to become a MC member. Erik, please send her the invitation to subscribe letter and add her to the web site as an MC member. Mary, please add her to TAG as an MC member. Diana's offer to sell the posters and books has been accepted. After the holiday sales rush, Gomberg will send the inventory to her. The idea of a volunteer coordinator is timely. We are at a point where we have jobs to fill and are looking for volunteers. In the past we have asked on our membership forms if they are interested and then done nothing with the information. I agree whole heartedly that is one reason we seem elitist. Does anyone know of potential candidates for this position? Jack, since you are the first contact and get the forms which indicate who will do what, can you suggest a way that is convenient for you to pass on the info to the Volunteer Coordinator? Maybe email or photocopies of the forms? Regarding advertising, I could go either way, a vote or just the SC authorizing it. However, I am reluctant to commit to spending money when I don't know how much up front. It could run to several thousand dollars per year when you figure 12 issues times two or three monthly fees. Mary, have you had any response from your emails to the two mags? Mary, the publisher can be reached at jc1@ipass.net. His name is John Cowgell. The last time I contacted him, I asked him to send the bill to David and for David to let me know when it came. I haven't heard anything so assume it hasn't come yet. Cowgell has been very remiss on this. I can't see how he stays in business without going after his payments. I am glad you are switching printers if only for this reason. Regarding the cost of previous issues, I sent all that data to David as part of the treasury transfer. The important variables are number of pages and how many were printed as well as whether color was used on the cover and/or inside. I also noticed that I didn't report the result on one of our votes. The decision was unanimous that one week would be our response time to votes. Thats it for now, Bob. ___________________________________________________________________ Why pay more to get Web access? Try Juno for FREE -- then it's just $9.95/month if you act NOW!
