OK, it's time for the recap. I think that we've all pretty much agreed that the MC will be an advisory panel, and the SC is the voting-on-issue panel. We're still very much in discussion on the issue of whether the entire membership elects the SC or not. Bob McCaw notes that many/most nonprofits don't let their members vote, while others have noted that several nonprofits that we're familiar with (ACA, AKA, etc) do actually give their members voting rights. I'm confused as to what to do next. If we think we're done with discussion on these two issues, then the SC should probably move that they vote on them. Or do we not need to vote on it because this is just going to be the language that is used for the bylaws, which we would vote on as a whole? On that note, should I or someone here be editing the bylaws, or is this something Bob McCaw will do? There's still those issues of budgets sitting down on the list, so please send mail to Davis Lass with your budgets. Oh, one last thing. I put the link to the conference brochure on the website for all to see. We are live! I guess I will contact my e-mail posse on the contest list to get this stuff out to the clubs. - Erik --------------------- Task Culprit Phase CONFERENCE Need details for website Charlene Done Advertise on website Erik Done Do periodic updates on APD Karen everyone remind her Advertise elsewhere Mary et. al. Entire SC Discussion "Up until the TAG vote, the SC has made all the "major" decisions regarding the AGA. The MC has been more advisory in capacity, as well as, in theory, running various committees. I'm not saying that another model might not be better, just that this is how it has been done up until now. But I think we ALL agree that AGA could stand with some new ways of doing business. I don't have any problem with changing things, but I think we should make some decisions on how we think things _should_ be done, and get it written down in some fashion so that we don't have to reinvent the wheel every time a decision, particularly a contentious one, needs to be made." - Karen INCORPORATION Does Membership elect the SC? MC/SC Discussion Many non-profit organizations do not give their members a vote. Others, (the ACA and AKA are given as examples) do have a yearly ballot for those interested. We need to make a decision on this. Draft bylaws Bob McCaw ? need to find out ?
