This is probably just the particular timing of your subscription.  The AGA
now publishes quarterly.  The last issue was mailed around June, but the
current issue is running a few months late.  These sorts of things happen
in an all-volunteer organization.  My guess would be that Jack mailed you
a convention announcement "in between" the issues to be sure you knew
about it.
