color issues a year.

I think this decision was made when we were putting out 6 issues a year.
My guess is that now that we are only doing 4 issues, we could probably
afford to include some color in every issue if we want to and have the right
material. What do the rest of you think? David, do you have any numbers? I
would guess we are saving a considerable amount by dropping two full issues
a year. We didn't drop the number because of price considerations, it was
to save wear and tear on the editor!<g> We might as well make the 4
remaining issues as nice as possible.

I agree that we should try and make TAG as nice as possible and will print
as many color pictures in as many issues as people think we can afford.

But I guess it ends up boiling down to if the judging is done, we will have
the articles, but if it isn't, we won't....I believe that we can have the
articles and photos ready by the date, so it really boils down to just the
judging.

I'll make sure I have enough material for the next issue without the contest
article and will hope for the best. I am waiting for permission an reprint
an article that could just as well go in Vol. 14, #1.

So as I understand it, the plan is not to give anything to Dave until AFTER
it has appeared in TAG, right?

If you look at the quality of the photos that have appeard in TAG over the
years, there is a lot of variability. I am going to talking to the
publishers next week about how to ensure the best possible pictures. I will
let you all know what they say.

To get more material and encourage more AGA members to write for TAG, I
would like produce at least one article of reader tips like some of the
regular gardening magazines. Here's what I would like to do. In the
registration packet, I would like to include a form for writing a tip (I
would supply it) which would also give an example. The tip can be a couple
of sentences up to a paragraph. I will ask people to write someting over
the weekend and will make a pitch about it. Even if I only get five or six
tips, that would still be enough to publish. If folks like the idea, that I
could make it a regular feature.

Who is going to be taking pictures at the conference?

Also, who is willing to write an article about the conference?
