There is a bit of a problem with the showcase/contest right now.  James
Purchase basically has it locked up.  Since he was the "founder", he sort
of has first rights at this thing.  But he has been sick since the
beginning of the year, as in the hospital.  Now home, he beleives he can
run the showcase, but has been phenomenally slow about it.  For instance,
in the last month, I have had exactly two e-mail cycles with him, on a 1.5
week periodicity.  I have asked him to call (or even e-mail) Charlene
about sponsors, but he has not.  I think he is being unreasonable and
should step down, but he has not taken the hint.  I have asked the
steering committee for insight on whether it's appropriate to mutiny this
particular project, but have not heard a peep.
