Hi folks. Good news and bad news. The good news is that the old TAGs are selling out like crazy at last. The bad news is that Diana is having trouble with the lag time and would like to change the policy on how we advertise availability. I'm a little hesitent myself to change the policy without hearing first from Diana about how many folks are asking for the grab-bag vs. actual issues. For instance, one factor in this is the recent upgrade of the website, such that we're now listing every article in the author index... it's possible people are looking for particular articles. I am happy to update the website with issue information on a daily basis, and also add something to the effect of "issues may be sold out at time of order receipt." - Erik ---------- Forwarded message ---------- Date: Wed, 13 Mar 2002 21:43:40 -0500 From: dwalstad@bellsouth.net To: Erik Olson <erik@thekrib.com> Cc: Karen Randall <krandall@world.std.com> Subject: TAG going even faster Dear Erik and Karen, Wow! Since I last wrote, two more issues are out of stock. Thus, please don't list individual issues anymore on website or in TAG. I strongly advise that we sell old TAGs as grab bags only until I clean out ALL the really old issues. I'd also like to see an announcement for a change in policy. We can always keep a few recent back issues for samples, but the recent issues go so fast (Vol 13, no 1 is now out) that I can't guarantee one particular issue will be in stock. If we don't change the policy right now, my nightmare will be to have people mailing checks for specific issues or all back issues assuming they'll get 40 or so in stock. As Karen said there's a lag time. Worse is the overseas money orders; any overseas refunds means a major hassle for me and the hobbyist. In summary, I'd advise announcing that for now back issues are only available as unspecified sample issues or grab bags. Erik feel free to put this letter on MCM if you think it will be helpful. Diana
