Re: [AGA-mcm] [Fwd: Thank you]

Don't think about it too much at all. It reads better if
you only read every other word ;-) .

I hope your feeling of frustration passes quickly. First of
all, RH had expectations in the neighborhood of several
hundred (based on his prior comments when he presented his
offer he was aiming for 200, wasn't he) while we had much
more realistic goals. So as you point out, we have not
failed to meet our expectations -- in fact, we did darn
well in that regard, we (and RH, too I might add) failed
only to meet RH's expectations.

The idea of other hobby/business websites participating
has already been raised in our discussions. Funny that he
didn't think we had already considered it. But anyway, as I
recall, we decided it's a tact we can pursue in the future
when we have someone to deal with the businesses. Right
now, we're still looking for someone to take over the task
of selling TAG ad space (still our third largest source of
net revenue!) now that Kathy must devote more time and
energy to more basic endeavors.

Actually, I'm inclined to think that the two tasks (selling
ad space and business/membership promo deals) might be
suitable as a joined pair -- maybe as part of a business
rep job or something.

I don't think AGA ever tried a program like this before --
we didn't really know how it turn out. Now we have some
history to use as a guide.

Btw, it seems the AGA2K4 regs are starting to trickle in
again. Soon that should run up to full throttle for
Sept/Oct. This should be a peak season for new memberships
- so things are going to get kind of busy soon.

PS: how's the tent coming along? ;-)
