Re: [AGA-mcm] [Fwd: Thank you]

Ann et al:

I know that you are absolutely right. I also know that RH means to be helpful. I would love to be a paid employee of AGA and do all the stuff that he listed for 8 hours a day. But I can't, so I got my knickers in a twist because of the underlying assumption. It was easy to get defensive. I'm over it now. I made the kids do wall exercises in taekwondo class. Always improves my mood. :-)

I'm going to thank him politely for his comments, print out his e-mail, and put it in the folder marked Later.

(identifying where things fell short of expectation and assigning blame). I
think that being critical is a good thing, not a bad thing -- maybe it is my
enginering background but being critical is what I do best, I used to get
paid for it and I don't seem to be able to turn it off. So, I suggest,
running with the suggestions, as much as possible.

RH is correct in that the forums are the most active connection between
planted tank hobbiests, that's where I've learned most of what I know, and
the AGA convention is where I was able to meet these on-line friends for the
first time. So, improving that connection should pay off, just for folks
like me who want to eventually put a face to the names we see so often.

Ann V, not raising my hand to do it just yet but I'll give it some thought

Why not tell Robert that we think his idea of getting other businesses
involved is a great one... but we need more help to get it done. He's

done

a good job bringing in a few new members, maybe he can canvass his flock

and

find us a volunteer or two to bring those businesses in!

That said, Cheryl, like everyone else, I've got to say, don't take him to
seriously. Robert can't even say something NICE without putting a sour
twist on it. It's just the way he always has been.
