If Jay is willing to do th e work of trying to put something together, I think we should encourage his efforts. This does not mean that we necessarily then change the way anything on the AGA website works. But if Jay comes up with something that looks useful, great. At the same time, I would hate for Jay to spend a lot of time on a project only to to ultimately find insufficient acceptance from the Board. So perhaps what could help is for Jay to undertake a pilot form of developing his ideas. Something less ambitious than the full project but that would give the MCM something more tangible to consider. I don't know if a "pilot" version would actually be nearly as much work as a full blown version. Perhaps it is only me, but I'm not so much a Luddite as a nebbish when it comes to "software" ideas and have trouble imagining how the idea will actually look/work in practice or what the maintenance issues might be. Concerning posible substantial changes/additions to the AGA website in the past, one issue has been, if we add this piece are we sure that it will be maintained and by whom? But I really like the interest Jay is showing here and his willingness to commit his personal resources (talent and time). I really like the focus on member/patron impact. And I like pictures too. And for the longer term, this could mean offloading some of the tremedous burden that Erik has been carrying for the AGA website. sh --- Jay Luto <jayluto@hotmail.com> wrote: > Erik and AGA Board, > > > I am gathering that you see a larger purpose to a > general "gallery" than > just the annual convention pictures.
