Hi Rick, We went through some similiar problems last year. At this point you really don't have a lot of negotiating power with the hotel. However, this is where your relationship with the people from the hotel can really pay off. We were able to secure extra room nights at the conference rate two times. I just explained to them that... in order for me to drive additional room/banquet and restaurant revenue to you (the hotel). I need to have as many people at the conference as possible. You see this is a "win/win.... we get more people in they spend more money at the hotel. If we don't get the rate most folks will simply not come and then neither the hotel nor the AGA will maximize our revenues. Remember, this is actually an off-peak time for hotel bookings so they should be anxious to fill more rooms. ALso our audience is in essence "captive" because of our rigorous schedule so they will typically eat at least one meal in the hotel. The dynamics of the DC area are a little different so YMMV. As always if there is anything I can do to help out please just let me know. On another note can you or Ghazanfar give us an idea of where we are at with regards to the questions I posted last week? I am sure that the AGA board members are at least as curious as I am. Regards, Larry --- Karen Randall <krandall@rdrcpa.biz> wrote: > Thank you so much for the offer!
