RE: [AGA-mcm] Potential issue

Ghazanfar,

I thought local GWAPA members were going to do some hacking to please Amano
needs. Do you need to get all the plants from distributor?

I don't know all the details but why did we "allow" Amano and Jeff equipment
exchange? I could only imagine all the profits from Amano tank sale. I bet
huge percentage of people is ready to make a dent in their budget just to
get Amano setup.

Tomoko helped secure a list of plants that Amano would like available to
aquascape with. It's a boat load of plants! It almost seems he selected off
a list of what's available to us locally via FAN etc.

Here's what's going on:

QUOTE:
Here's the list of plants his majesty wants. Nozomi Hayakawa said
that 15 pots of each variety should be enough. My. Amano prefers
emersed grown ones with crisp stems and leaves if at all possible.

Anubias barteri var. coffeefolia
Anubias barteri va. barteri
Anubias barteri var. nana
Bolbitis heudelotii
Eleocharis acicularis
Eleocharis vivipara
Ludwigia acuata
Ludwigia repens
Hygrophila polysperma
Ludwigia grandulosa
Cryptocoryne retrospiralis
Cryptocoryne lutea
Rotala macrandra
Rotala indica
Rotala wallichii

Fontinalis antipyretica
Riccia fluitans
Lilaeopsis novae-zealandiae

Mr. Amano will use Power Point for his presentation during the award
banquet.

As for the shipment you were asking about, it is arranged to arrive at
Marriott hotel in Arlington, VA on November 10th. The forwarder is
Hankyu International Transport (USA) Inc in New York. There should be
43 boxes. The total weight is approximately 1,150 kg. The shipment
contains ADA's tanks, lighting, CO2 equipment and other aquascaping
supplies including substrate, rocks, etc.
If the shipment runs into a custom clearance problem (which I don't
expect with Hankyu handling it), ADA will try to contact AGA (or me).
The shipment has reached Long Beach already and it's on its way to New
York by rail as we speak.

Here's the information on the forwarder:

HANKYU INTERNATIONAL TRANSPORT (USA) INC.
NEW YORK Branch

230-19 International Airport Center Boulevard,
Suite 1000, Jamaica, NY 11413
 PHONE : (718)656-6265

 FAX : (718)244-8732
 MAIL : nyc@hankyu-usa.com

Please get in touch with the forwarder and discuss about the delivery.
They will tell you the approximate arrival time and may ask you to
make an arrangement with the hotel about the holding area. If you
tell Hankyu that you are calling about the shipment from Aqua Design
Amano Co. Ltd, (B/L No. HSF-24697546), they should be able to tell you
what to expect. Nozomi said that a Japanese individual at Hankyu
International Transport should know all the details.

The ADA's equipment will go to Jeff Senske after the convention.

If you need further clarification on this, please let me know.

Tomoko
END QUOTE

2500 lbs shipped to the hotel! I'm going to call the shipping company and
the
hotel to coordinate this and see what we can do that makes sense. We dont
want to incurr horrendous holding charges from the hotel for the equipment.

That said - Amano will be scaping an ADA tank, with ADA equipment etc.
All the items are to go to Jeff Senske (part of some business deal) after
the demo. What of the plants? We're planning on getting them from FAN
as part of (or all of?) their donation. If so, we'll have to tear down the
Amanoscape prior to the auction and scavenge the plants.

I'll open this up to discussion.
