Re: [AGA-mcm] Media Sales Tallies
There's two ways to look at this. First, from the "by the numbers"
viewpoint, it's a little iffy that the AGA makes $10-15 per copy. But I
would note that the AGA by definition is not-for-profit, so any money
brought in from the disks allows the AGA to pay for other projects. My
part of the income gets used for postage, artwork, packaging, and partial
reimbusement for all the stuff I've bought to produce these things.
I think this agrees with the spirit of the agreement even if it's not quite
in the letter of the wording. Sure, some non-members will make their way to
the site and purchase the DVD, but we're not "making a profit" from it in a
business-I-want-to-make-as-much-money-as-possible sense. Amano's supported
us for so long that I doubt he would particularly care much if we make a
little money off it since all proceeds are going directly back into the club
and not someone's pocket.
Selling it to someone who will in turn sell it again to make money for the
sake of making money is definately against both the spirit and letter of the
agreement.
Best,
Phil
