Here's my two cents..... I really like the idea of making Neil and Dorothy life members. It is a nice way for us as an organization to express our appreciation of the work they have both done to make the AGA whatit is today. However, making Dave Gomberg a life member to get the full rights to PAM is an entirely different story. I have nothing against Dave, in fact I have sent numerous people to his site to by CO2 equipment over the years. I agree that distributing the valuable info in PAM is part of our mission, I think giving Gomberg life status cheapens what has been done for Neil and Dorothy. I would not have a problem with not charging him dues but the "life member" status should be reserved for those who truly gave of themselves not for those who ..... Since I have nothing nice to say anymore as my Mom always said I won't say aything else. But you all know what I'm thinking! ;-) Regards, Larry --- Erik Olson <erik@thekrib.com> wrote: > FYI, while some members of the board were evaluating > a "feeler proposal" > to give someone a life AGA membership in exchange > for..um...I dunno, say, > full legal control over their former magazine or > something, it was brought > up that we don't *have* any sort of official "life > membership" categories, > just a handful of indefinite memberships for some > workers and contacts. > > So it was voted to officially make Neil and Dorothy > life members.
