My impression is that they are working really hard onthis, but need to feel a little support from someone on the AGA side.Already it's starrting. Like last year but without Amano to save us :-O ? They aren't asking for any specific help and are saying they aren't getting enough help? I've been in contact (with Tom and my replies I copy to DG and Kropp and the Advisory Committee) and offered help. But what is that they think they need from AGA that they don't have?
Someone (or a committee) SPECIFIC to field the kinds of questions they asked me last night.
If none of them have actually worked directly on planning and producing a convention, then they might be lost as to where to begin.
That will be true of almost any group that steps forward. VERY few local clubs have put on a convention of this scope. (Even NEC doesn't have to think much about the travel plans of attendees... just speakers)
Still no indication that anybody is leading them. If they are working by committee, without a leader and without direct experience, it's going to be a rough ride.
I thought they HAD named someone, it was just that Dave had decided _he_ didn't like who they'd named.
The first thing they need to do is decide who is going to lead the effort. If they can't get a commitment to that, then I think they should reconsider their capabilities.
Then someone needs to tell them that flat out. And this time it's NOT me.Karen
