Re: [AGA-mcm] RE: [Aca-cadre] convention dvd bit the dust (fwd)

...and of course, the amount of exposure and money involved has everything to do with it, which is one of the reasons I was dismissed from Novak's stupid trademark suit. Though at the time it was a high-profile website, the Krib makes no money. Likewise, the AGA DVD's are pretty low profile. And frankly, the ACA DVD's would have been even more so. APC will be something to watch, as all the advertising dollars start to make it a money-making venture...

It's a bigger deal for ACA speakers, they receive

ASCAP certainly could come after folks using music without
permission. I've seen it done.

Lucas is much less likely to sue than, say, Disney, who
once sued his own mother for using the name "Disney" after
he trademarked it (I made that up, of course).

It doesn't become an issue until there is something of
value to fight over -- it's the value that one sues about.

But copyright "infringement" is rampant. Is George Lucas
going to sue
Luis Navarro for using a photo of Emperor Palpatine in
the APC forum? To
do so would only create ill will.
