I read the sucker just like I read my e-mail, asking the board to show all new posts since my last visit.I'll have to figure out how to do that... I HATE all the back-and-forthing you have to do on forums.
I click on the upper-right-corner "View posts since last visit". This gives me a screen of various post indexes. I click on the first one with the arrow pointing to the green thing. Then pray that it actually goes to the new posts (which can be identified by a similar little green thing next to them in the thread). When I'm done with that thread, I hit back on the browser and go to the next one. If I reply to the post, I end up going back to the top by clicking on the big F O R U M graphic and "View posts since last visit" again (which magically now has the ones I have read showing sans-green thing).
The thing I've found I must watch out for is that once I go to the forum, I have to read all the new posts, or else the next time I log in (usually from a different computer), it doesn't bother pointing them out. I really wish I had a "show me all the posts I haven't read at all...whether or not it was my last visit"). That's probably a CPU-costly feature, but then again we have a costly CPU.
I also miss spell check.<g>
There is an attachment that will go to a 3rd party website to spellcheck your post, but that starts to get into the whole advertising thing. I should check to see if someone's written an ispell attachment.
BTW, I was thinking of talking to the NEAPS folks to see if they would be interested in joining AGA in a little friendly Nano tank competition, live at NEC. Any views for or agin' ?
That could be quite fun, and a warm-up for the Iron Aquascaper. And since there'll be a camera crew, it might be good material for an exclusive online video...
- ErikPS: Michael, I mailed your DVD this morning. It's been sitting in the pile for the last five days or so waiting for the ribbon mailing trip.
