I suspect it's just a badly-written search bot, but I just don't have the 
time to poke around it.  I suspect that gallery is probably an order of 
magnitude worse than phpBB in terms of holes, especially with the new 
version.  I don't like running software I don't know much about, and since 
I don't really have any investment in it, we no longer have an AGA 
Official Photographer(tm), and we're not actively using it, it's time for 
it go go bye-bye.  Next year we'll generate static pages just like we 
always have...much less exploitable.
