I think we would be asking too much of our limited resources to produce a convention this year. We really aren't staffed up for one, e.g., we have no one to chair. If we were submitting a proposal to ourselves, we probably wouldn't accept it, assuming we submitted it on time to be considered.
Rather than trying pull off whatever we can with whatever we've got -- we could certainly pull off something -- I think it would be best not to this year. While it might be true that most attendees wouldn't notice a less than stellar production, it could leave us with even fewer resources for subsequent years.
Financially we're flush, but in terms of able bodies, we're a bit flushed out. Not saying we don't have hard working folks; just saying what we have can only go so far.

Hi all,
Bailin contacted me and asked if I would do sponsors for the aquascaping
contest.
I am considering that along with my other responsibilities, and what plays
into it....is there a convention this year??
I am assuming no, at least at this point I think it would be better for
2008.
Hate to say it, but I say that with a sigh of relief. I know I could use
a break this year, but Erik/I would do whatever is needed for the AGA.
Larry...what is the status, what are your thoughts?
Do we work on 2008 now! I think our energy would be better directed that
way.
