Joan is probably talking about a talk similar to
one given here at MASI (the local aquarium club) by an old part American Indian,
part hippie about 20 years ago. It was a very strange, hands on (or should
I say "mouths on"?) talk. It's surprising, but a whole lot of the pond
plants we keep are edible. I actually know someone else who might be able
to do a similar talk for them. I'll put her in touch with him.
I gave a talk on fancy goldfish to their
group and introduced them to the AGA and the concept of keeping Water
Gardens indoors year 'round a few years ago. It's the largest audience to
which I've ever given a talk - easily 200 + people in the room. And
after the talk I got more questions on the AGA and keeping aquatic plants than I
did on fancy goldfish during the talk!
