Re: [AGA-mcm] Fw: A speaker question

Not to mention that a great many aquarium fish are edible too -- plants or fish one must not discount that many of the additives put into aqaurium water are not especially healthy for long-lived creatures -- Excel comes quickly to mind.

I can too talk when my mouth is full.  You just can't understand me - and it probably doesn't look too pleasant!  ; )

Joan is probably talking about a talk similar to one given here at MASI (the local aquarium club) by an old part American Indian, part hippie about 20 years ago.  It was a very strange, hands on (or should I say "mouths on"?) talk.  It's surprising, but a whole lot of the pond plants we keep are edible.  I actually know someone else who might be able to do a similar talk for them.  I'll put her in touch with him.

I gave a talk on fancy goldfish to their group and introduced them to the AGA and the concept of keeping Water Gardens indoors year 'round a few years ago.  It's the largest audience to which I've ever given a talk - easily 200 + people in the room.  And after the talk I got more questions on the AGA and keeping aquatic plants than I did on fancy goldfish during the talk!
