As always, it's really a matter of just getting the ball rolling. When he was out speaking here last year, Luis Navarro kinda volunteered his wife to help us find a hotel (she's in the industry). I could call him and ask if that offer's still good. But mainly I'm just curious if everyone else is still onboard with this plan.
Mike: I think St. Louis would be a great venue for the AGA, and you guys in MASI are very hard workers. I know you'd do an excellent job. If we did pull off Spring '10 in Florida, then I would think the next open slot would logically be November '11. But if Spring '10 isn't in the cards, maybe November '10?

Speaking of the Convention DVD, that reminds me. My local club, the Missouri Aquarium Society, Inc. (MASI) is interested in hosting an AGA convention or helping the AGA to put one on here in St. Louis. We were thinking of 2010 or 2012. Is there any interest in hosting one here in the middle of the US? Along with a good sized local club heavily into aquatic plants and planted tanks, we have a large number of active hobbyists who are also active volunteers and we have a sound treasury. We have cheap(er) flights from either coast and one day driving distance for nearly 40% of the US population, we've got one of the top zoos in the country (and it's free!) one of the top botanical gardens in the world, and many other interesting things to do....plus a choice of very nice convention hotels close to the airport and major interstate highways that have hosted aquatic conventions before (ACA - 3 x, AKA - 2 x, IFGA and IBC once each).
