Those mean "NULL" -- i.e., there's no information in the record. Hopefully not too many of those. You'll need to uncheck the box if you want to put information in the record.

Huh? I don't get it. The checkboxes are unchecked whether there is anything in the corresponding field or not.

There's a subtle difference. "Nothing" in the field means the name "". NULL means there is no name, not even "". It's used in database access all the time, because the string "" can have a different meaning.

For our perspective, best to leave them all unchecked please. :)
