Please don't stop asking questions. There are probably lots of listeners on this list, just like me, who learn by watching the traffic. I am learning lots from the responses you get.
I have been toying with adding CO2 to my tank and have soft water because I want a SA Amazon biotope-like system. All of the discussion makes my choice much more informed. I know more about the gotchas. I never thought about the affect of soft water on the plants other than, in my case using RO, it may lack trace nutrients. This last question is a good question and most of your others are too.
If others aren't interested, that is when they can use the delete key.
