I use "egg crate" for tank lids, it's that plastic grid made for fluorescent ceiling fixtures, it's about 3/8" thick with about a 1/2" X 1/2" grid, the Milwaukee probes fit nicely in them, the collar stops them from falling all the way through, which is good since you shouldn't submerse them beyond the bottom of the collar anyway. Actually, I would recommend egg crate to anyone who wants a good lid, it's open which is a plus for venting off heat and doesn't reduce the available light to any significant degree, I have glass lids that are worse in that respect, and you can create cut outs for heaters or whatever simly by snipping out pieces of grid with diagnal cutters. Merry Christmas all !
